Only God Can Save Man
from Sin
Man Can not Earn Salvation:
The Bible tells us
that man can not earn salvation through good work but it is a free gift of God
through faith. The reason is :
a. God is Holy. Man
must be holy to live with Him. ( Leviticus 11:45; Numbers 15:40; 1 Peter 1:16 ).
b. Man is sinner and
fall short of the glory ( and holiness) of God. (Romans 3:23)
c. Man Can not Do Good
Work: All man are sinners deserve the punishment of Holy and Righteous God, as
the wage of sin is death (Romans 6:23) As sinner, man cannot do any good work.
Every good work man do has an underlying motive of self-centeredness and
self-righteousness (Psalm
14:1-3; Isaiah 64:6; Romans 3:12).
2. Only God Can Save
us:
As man can not save himself and others, God sent
His Son to save us: “For God so loved the world
that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but
have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
A sinner can not save sinner. Only a sinless
person can save sinner. All human beings are sinners. Only Jesus lived a sinless
life on earth. Only Jesus can save us from sin as He was the only sinless person.
Jesus, being the Son of God lived a sinless life and then gave His life as a
sacrifice for all who place their faith in Him. To all who received Jesus, God
the Father credits to them the perfect righteousness of His Son Jesus.
This is the good news
of the gospel. What we could not do, God has done for us, and He grants us
credit for Jesus' perfect righteousness by grace through faith (1 Corinthians 1:2; Ephesians 1:4; 2:4-9).
By God's grace and
through the work of Jesus, those who put their faith in Christ are forgiven of
their sins and credited with the perfect righteousness of God the Son. This
restores fallen man's relationship with God and, through Christ, we are adopted
as sons and daughters of God.
God has done all that is necessary for the
redemption of those who believe in Jesus (Romans 10:13).
Hope you have become true Christian by
receiving Jesus Christ. If not yet, call on Jesus Christ and receive Him now.
God bless you.
