The
angel of the Lord Gabriel told Joseph that his fiancé Mary will have a son and will be called ‘Jesus’, which means ‘saviour’ :
The
Angel says to Joseph, “She will bear a son, and you are to name Him ‘Jesus’, for He
will save His people from their sins”
(Matthew 1:21).
What
is salvation?
In
the Bible, Salvation is being saved or rescued from the penalty of sin. We are
all sinners (Romans 3;23), and the consequence of sin is death (Romans 6:23). ‘Death’ here
is not just physical death, but eternal death or separation from God.
How
to have salvation?
Receiving
‘Jesus’, the ‘Saviour’ as Lord and Saviour is ‘having Salvation’.
So,
receive Jesus on this Christmas and be saved from sin and eternal death; but
have eternal life in God.
