According
to the Bible, God created man in His image and in His Likeness.
“Then
God said, “Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness”
(Genesis 1: 26a)
“So,
God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male
and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27)
Therefore,
we can say that man had the qualities of God shown above, when God created him in
the beginning, at least in some degree. But after his disobeyed God, man lost
godliness, his relation with God was
broken. To restore that relation, God sent His Son Jesus Christ. All who
believed in Jesus and received Him as
Lord and Saviour will have new relation with God. This restoration of
the already broken relationship is called ‘NEW LIFE IN CHRIST’ , ‘Born-again’, ‘Eternal
Life’ as the believer have God’s nature noted above in this New Life.
Hope
