Jesus Drives Out an Impure Spirit

Then he went down to Capernaum, a town in Galilee, and on the Sabbath he taught the people. They were amazed at his teaching, because his words had authority.

In the synagogue there was a man possessed by a demon, an impure spirit. He cried out at the top of his voice, “Go away! What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are —the Holy One of God!”
“Be quiet!” Jesus said sternly. “Come out of him!” Then the demon threw the man down before them all and came out without injuring him.
All the people were amazed and said to each other, “What words these are! With authority and power he gives orders to impure spirits and they come out!”
And the news about him spread throughout the surrounding area. (Luke 4:31-37NIV)

May Jesus also drive out all the impurity in your body and mind.

On Our Way to Heaven

We are on our way to Heaven. We face temptation everyday to fall – to comprise our faith with something, to tell a lie, to get angry with trifle, to gain undue profit and to do wrong in many ways.
The Bible instructs us to “…Stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery.”( Galatians 5:1)
Let’s arm ourselves with the ‘double-edged sword ‘the word of God’ by reading the Bible daily and pray continuously.

How can We Have Joy in Trials?

“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.” James 1:2
Why does God allow trials in our life? They help build our faith and dependence on God. The Bible says our faith is like gold that needs to be purified and refined in fire. The joy comes when we realize the fire makes the end product more valuable and beautiful.
Expect Suffering
Our hope cannot be based on a comfortable, trouble-free life here on earth. Jesus said, “In this world you will have troubles, but have courage! I have overcome the world” John 16:33. Jesus tell us to expect it; He says you will have troubles, not if you have troubles. Jesus’ promise is victory over the things of this world, not happiness in them. The Bible warns against us loving this world and its comforts (1 John 2:15-17). This world is fading away, and so are the pleasures it holds.

Praise God for Spiritual Blessings in Christ

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.” (Ephesians 1:3)

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. (Ephesians 1:4)

In love he(God) predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. (Ephesians 1:5-6)

Resurrection on Christ is a Guarantee for Believers

Jesus Christ  came to the world and became man. He taught people about ‘The Kingdom of God’ and how to get in there. The taught that the only way is to believe the only True God, His father in heaven and received His Son, Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour. He died for our sins on the cross so that we may have ‘eternal life in God’. He rose again on the third day and He sits at the right hand of God, the Father in heaven.
God gave Jesus Christ, all the authorities in heaven and on earth and commands us to tell all people about all these  (Matthew 28:18-20) In His authority, Jesus Christ give all His followers the right to become ‘the children of God’(John 1:12).
In His resurrection, Jesus Christ “has become the first-fruits of those who have fallen asleep” In 1 Corinthians 15 : 20). His resurrection is an assurance for all His followers that God will raise all believers on the last day.
Jesus Christ is coming again! The dead in Christ will be raised up, and those who remain and are alive at His coming will be changed and receive new, glorified bodies (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).
Believers will be raised to meet Christ in His second coming (Rapture) to bring all believers to Him in heaven. On that day, we, believers will all sing a song of victory over death and sin :
“Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” (1 Corinthians 15:55).

The Holy Spirit - His Fruit

"... the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control; against such things there is no law." (Galatians 5:22-23)

""The fruit of the Spirit is love." Only as we live in love can we fulfill the will of God in our lives. The believer must become love-inspired, love-mastered, and love-driven (2 Corinthians 5:14). Without the fruit of the Spirit (love), we are just a religious noise (1 Corinthians 13:1).

"The fruit of the spirit is love," and it is manifested in joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control:

1) Joy is love's strength.
2) Peace is love's security.
3) Patience is love's endurance.
4) Kindness is love's conduct.
5) Goodness is love's character.
6) Faithfulness is love's confidence.
7) Gentleness is love's humility.
8) Self-control is love's victory.

"Against such things there is no law." A Holy Spirit-controlled person needs no law to live a righteous life. The secret of a Spirit-controlled life is found in dedication to God (Romans 12:1, 2). Put your all on the altar, and the Holy Spirit will fill your heart with the love of God. (Romans 5:5).

My brethren in Jesus, let's take this advice and be filled with the love of God, to His praise and glory.

One Can Easily Break Bad Habit With Jesus Help

One of your family member might have addicted to alcohol, drugs, gambling, or some other bad habit. May be it is you. You might have tried to break but could not as you have no power. It might already have affected physically, mentally and spiritually.
Some say ‘the Bible does not say against drinking wine, it only tells us not to be drunk’. But Alcohol and drugs are easily habit forming. When drinking becomes your habit you must be drunk. It makes ‘Normal mind’ to ‘abnormal mind’. God give you ‘Normal mind’, if you drink and lose your balance mind and make it ‘abnormal mind’, you are damaging God’s creation.
Care for your  -  prestige; care for your beauty, care for  your mental balance, judgment, decision making balance; care for your good relationship with dear ones and your temper;  care for  your stomach, liver, heart, kidney, eye-sight. All these can be damaged.
The Bible says  “do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.” ( 1 Corinthians 6:9-10)

If you need help, call on Jesus Christ and pray for His help. Jesus says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
When Jesus was in this world, He healed many sick people, raised dead, calmed the wave and storm. He performed many miracles. Now, He is in Heaven and God has given all authority over heaven and earth.
Jesus wants to set you free from all bad habit, addiction and from all sin and its consequences. He wants to give you new life for eternity.
Just call on Him in prayer. Tell Him all your problems and ask Him for help. He will set you free from all your bad habit, addiction, your sin, weaknesses and from all your problems.

The Holy Spirit - His Work

"But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper shall not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin, and righteousness, and judgment; concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will no longer behold Me; and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged." (John 16:7-11)

"In instructing His disciples regarding the coming of the Holy Spirit, Jesus said " . . . for if I do not go away, the Helper shall not come to you; but if I go I will send Him to you. And He, when He comes, will . . . " :

01) Convict men of the sin of unbelief (John 16:9).
02) Convict men that Jesus is the righteousness of God (John 16:10 and
    Romans 10:3,4).
03) Convict men that the power of Satan has been broken (John 16:11).
04) Regenerate the believer (John 3:5 & Titus 3:5).
05) Indwell the believer (1 Corinthians 6:19, 20).
06) Seal the believer (Ephesians 1:13, 14).
07) Baptize the believer (Acts 1:5 & 1 Corinthians 12:13).
08) Infill the believer (Ephesians 5:18).
09) Empower the believer (Acts 1:8)
10) Lead the believer (Galatians 5:16-18)
11) Administer spiritual gifts to the believer (1 Corinthians 12:1-11).

The Holy Spirit came on the day of Pentecost, to remain with the church until it is complete and presented to the Lord Jesus at His coming. Just as Jesus Christ finished the work He came to do in the flesh, so the Holy Spirit will finish the work He came to do in the church."

Jesus is the One Foundation and Source of the Church

"And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead... the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints... Christ in you, the hope of glory" (Colossians 1:18, 26-28).

Acts 2 records the birth of the church at Pentecost. This was indeed a Feast of Harvest (Exodus 23:16), because a harvest of about 3,000 souls took place on that day when the Holy Spirit came upon the apostles and disciples (Acts 2:1-41).
Biblically, Christianity is not a building or religion but the church, or household of God. It is embodied in Christ and His people, individually and collectively.
Before time began, the church was conceived in the mind of God. Then, "when the time had fully come" (Galatians 4:4), God sent His only son, "born of a woman, born under law" to be the church's true founder, foundation, and head (1 Corinthians 3:11).
As the first of the chosen ones (1 Peter 2:6), Jesus, the anointed one (that is, the Christ) died as the perfect Passover lamb fifty days before the events of Acts 2.
Before that, He prepared the apostles for three years, giving them the Father's Word and keeping them in His name (John 17:12, 14).
After His resurrection He breathed into the apostles the breath of eternal life in the form of the Holy Spirit, who was to indwell them (John 20:22; cf. John 14:25-26). They became the seeds of the new church, which sprouted into thousands when the Holy Spirit came upon them, empowering them to witness, preach, and carry out the mission Jesus gave them. Rising from the dead, Jesus was the first fruits of God's Kingdom; ''then, when he comes, those who belong to him will also rise, never to die again (John 11:25-26).

Renewed Hope, Perfect Peace, Eternal Life

By
 Hope on Apr 15, 2014
From the series Prayer Letter
Scripture: “I am the resurrection and the life. Everyone who lives in Me and believes in Me will never ever die.” John 11:25-26
Civil war in the Middle East. The political turmoil in Europe. The crises throughout Africa. The unrest in South America. All over the world, we see the truth of Jesus Christ’s statement to His followers: “you will hear of wars and threats of wars” (Matthew 24:6).
Many have predicted that when mankind became more educated, they would give up their warlike ways, and peace would rule the planet. Yet the story of humanity, right up to the present day, is a story of war, conflict and suffering.
Hope for a better world -- for true peace -- can be found only in God, not in ourselves. Human striving leads to death. Life comes from God alone.
Life from God
Over 2,000 years ago, God came to earth to live among us. He entered the world as a helpless baby, born miraculously to a virgin mother. Jesus, the Son of God, grew up living the only perfect, sinless life. And when it was time, He gathered His followers and taught people about God’s ways, saying, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10). But He was so much more than a great teacher.
Death to Sin
The Bible tells us that God’s Son came to earth so that He could go to the cross. On the cross, Jesus took upon Himself all the sins of the world. That includes every sin you and I have ever committed, as well the sins we’ll commit in the future. For those who believe in and follow Jesus, our sins were nailed to the cross with Him (Colossians 1:14). He was, and is, the eternal sacrifice that guarantees a lasting peace. When we repent and turn to Him, He will forgive us and remove the record of every sin we have ever committed: “You were dead because of your sins... Then God made you alive with Christ, for He forgave all our sins” (Colossians 2:13).

As Jesus Has Risen, His Followers Will Rise Again

The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave shows us the absolute sovereignty of God over life and death.
God is the supreme power over our life and death. Jesus is risen. All followers of Jesus Christ will rise again.
Praise be the God and the Father in Heaven.
The resurrection of Jesus is a testimony to the resurrection of human beings, which is a basic tenet of the Christian faith.
Jesus Christ  became man, died for our sins, and was resurrected the third day. The grave could not hold Him. He lives, and He sits today at the right hand of God the Father in heaven.
Christ has risen from the dead and “has become the first-fruits of those who have fallen asleep” In 1 Corinthians 15 : 20), assuring that we will follow Him in resurrection.
The inspired Word of God guarantees the believer's resurrection at the coming of Jesus Christ for His Body (the Church) at the Rapture.

Why God wants His Son Jesus to die on the cross?

God is just. In His justice, God must reward the righteous and punished the sinner.
All human being are sinner , God must punish all with eternal condemnation.
However, God is Love, too. He loves and wants to save all human beings.
Therefore, God made a good plan that He maintain justice but save human being , too out of love.
The result was, He sent His Son Jesus in the world to die on our behalf and save us. Read how the Bible says,
“ For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” (John 3:16-18)

Jesus knew everything including His death approaching and who would betray Him.
“Jesus replied, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.” (John 12:23)

Jesus could pray to God to protect Him. But He did not. He, rather willingly accept the punishment for our sin.  He offer His life and died for us so that the requirement of God may be fulfilled that Jesus must die to save us. Jesus called His coming death on the cross ‘glorified’!
Because, He loves you and me. He knew if He die, we will have eternal life.
Now, Jesus had died and all who believes in Him have life.

Hope you believe Him and have ‘eternal life’. If not, you are already condemned and will face eternal death.
Now, you still have earthly life and have chance to believe.
Call on Jesus in prayer and receive Him for your Lord and Saviour.
If you have already believe and received Him, thank God everyday. Read the Bible daily and pray continually.  And,

Celebrate Good Friday to glorify Him.

The Holy Spirit - His Emblems

In Luke 3:16, we see John the Baptist talking to the crowds that had gathered to hear him:  "John answered and said to them all, "As for me, I baptize you with water; but One is coming Who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to untie the thong of His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire."
"It is often difficult to impart truth by the use of words. Frequently they reveal only a half-truth, leaving the other half hidden. The writers of the Bible used certain emblems when unfolding the mysteries of the Holy Spirit, because they illustrate more about Him than volumes can contain. They are:
 1) Fire as an emblem (above verse): Fire speaks of His consuming, purifying power in the life of the believer (Acts 2:3; Isaiah 6:1-7).
 2) Wind as an emblem (John 3:8): Wind speaks of His hidden depth in His mighty regenerating power.
 3) Water as an emblem (John 7:37-39): Water speaks of His power to fill the believer to overflowing with spiritual life.
 4) Seal as an emblem (Ephesians 1:13): Seal speaks of His ownership of the believer; it is a finished, eternal transaction.
 5) Oil as an emblem (Acts 10:38): Oil speaks of His power to anoint for service.
6) Dove as an emblem (Mark 1:10): The dove speaks of His gentle, tender, peaceful nature.
We may know "the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension" (Philippians 4:7), only when we are fully surrendered to God."
My friend in Jesus, may we always and in every way be wholly submitted to the will of God, diligent to know and to follow the teachings and commandments of Jesus, and praying daily to be filled with the Holy Spirit and His enabling power and abundant grace for every good work and word.

The Holy Spirit - His Deity

"But Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit ..." (Acts 5:3)

"In dealing with Ananias, Peter revealed the deity of the Holy Spirit when he said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit . . . You have not lied to men, but to God." In this Scripture it is very clear that the Holy Spirit is God, and He is co-equal, co-eternal, and co-existent with the Father and the Son.

His deity is also set forth in that He possesses divine attributes:
 01) He is everywhere present in the universe (Psalm 139:7-10).
02) He has all power (Luke 1:35).
03) He has all knowledge (1 Corinthians 2:10, 11).
04) He is eternal (Hebrews 9:14).

His deity is revealed in that His name is coupled in equality with the name of the Father and the Son:

Observe the Passion Week Passionately

With rest of the Christian world, We started observing the ‘Passion Week’ from last Sunday, beginning with the triumphal entry of Jesus in Jerusalem riding on the back of a colt (on Palm Sunday) and will be up to Easter Sunday.
Theologians says that ‘Passion Week’ is being named to mark the passion of our Lord Jesus Christ that He willingly suffered and died on the cross for our sins.
It is because of the ‘Passion of Jesus Christ’, we are saved from sin and its consequences, eternal condemnation. Jesus paid our sin and given us a ‘New Life’.
Let us always thank God and follow Jesus faithfully. Let us, be passionate like Jesus in every way in living this New Life. Let us share His message of Love to our friends and others passionately.

How can We Have Joy in Trials?

Your King Is Coming

Jesus Comes to Jerusalem as King
Jesus came to Jerusalem as King. The people of Israel, even His disciples thought He would become King of Israel that day, to free the people from the rule of the Roman Emperor.
As He entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred. A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted,
“Hosanna to the Son of David!”
“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”
“Hosannain the highest heaven!” (Matthew 21:6-11. Also read Luke 19:28-40)

( Remember : 1. Hebrew word “Hosanna” means “Save!”. The people demanded of Him to save the Israelite from Romans rule.
2. Cloak or cloths represent ‘dresses’, signify ‘the mind, thinking, heart, character and nature’ of man.
3. The leaves of tree the people used on that day was ‘Palm tree leaves’. Hence, ‘Palm Sunday’.
‘Leaf of Palm tree’ was used that time as a symbol of victory.)

Jesus came riding on donkey. No King ever rides on slow and weaker animals like donkey. The kings of the world ride on fast and strongest animals like horses and Elephant and fought battles.
Jesus riding on donkey means He was not to fight worldly battles and His Kingdom is not worldly kingdom.
The Kingdom of God’, Jesus preached was not worldly kingdom but God’s Rule in the heart of every believers.
When you believe in God and receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, Jesus rule in your heart. He becomes the King of your life. You obey your King, Jesus and His teachings:

“Believe in the only One True God and His Son Jesus Christ. Receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and obey Him.

Love God and His children, Love your fellows. Love your neigbours as you love yourself.
Love your enemies and pray for them.
Tell others the Love of God, His saving grace through Jesus Christ. Help them that they may know God and receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour and obey Him as their King.

First of all, receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Call on Him in prayer. Humble yourself, open your heart and lay low as the people on that day lay their cloths on the road. Then, Jesus will enter your heart. He will win the sin in you. He will change  all your bad and old nature to new good habits and new nature. He will make your a ‘Winner’ ‘Conqueror’, ‘victorious over sin’.

Today, Jesus come to you as your king. Receive Him for your King – Lord and Saviour.

The Holy Spirit - His Equality

The Holy Spirit is God, and is equal to the Father and the Son. Don't ever speak of Him as "It" or refer to Him as "an influence." He is God the Holy Spirit, and is set forth in the Bible as being distinct from the Father and the Son. In the Genesis account of creation, He is seen actively engaged in the work of creation, along with the Father and the Son. In the Old Testament, He came upon men to empower them for service; but, when they were disobedient, He departed from them.

When David sinned against the Lord, he prayed, "Do not take Thy Holy Spirit from me" (Psalm 51:11). In the New Testament, after Pentecost, we see the Holy Spirit indwelling the believer, never to leave him, filling and empowering him for service. The study of the person and work of the Holy Spirit is of utmost importance. A scriptural understanding of God the Holy Spirit will make you a better Christian and servant of God."

The Holy Spirit is a source of great comfort to Christians. He is also our Teacher and Enabler. It is wise to pray to Him as well as to our Father God and Jesus. Why not ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with Himself every day? He will make it easier to be a faithful follower of Jesus.

Jesus Pray For His Followers

Jesus Christ always love and cares you
Why worry? Be glad and thank Jesus who saved us and make us the children of God. See how our Lord and Saviour Jesus pray for us. Please read :
“After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed:
“Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent…They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me. I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours.  All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them. ..
Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one. ..My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one..  “.Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message,  that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one  I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

Jesus - His Ascension and Second Coming

"And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was departing, behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them; and they also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, Who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven." (Acts 1:9-11)

"After forty days of instructing His disciples, the risen Christ ascended up on high and is seated at the right hand of the Father (Hebrews 10:12). Two men (angels) brought the message of His second coming to the apostles: "This Jesus, Who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way . . ."  The message of the second coming of Jesus is so important, that it is mentioned over three hundred times in the New Testament.

1) He is coming to take His church to be with Him (1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17); also (John 14:1-6).
2) He is coming to judge the nations (Matthew 25:31-46).
3) He is coming to save Israel (Romans 11:25, 26).
4) He is coming to sit upon the throne of David (Luke 1:31-33; also Isaiah 9:6, 7).
5) He is coming to bring righteous government to this earth (Hebrews 1:8).

Jesus Christ is coming back to this earth again. "Come Lord Jesus!""

And let all God's saints (you and me) say, "Maranatha!"  (Come Lord Jesus!)

Jesus - His Resurrection

"In John 11:25, we read that Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life." The resurrection of Jesus Christ was the doctrine of every disciple, the faith of every true believer, the courage of every martyr, the theme of every sermon, and the power of every evangelist.

Luke tells us in Acts 1:3, that we have "many convincing proofs" of His resurrection. Let us look at some of the "convincing proofs" according to eye witnesses:

01) After Jesus' resurrection He appeared first to Mary Magdalene.
(John 20:11-18)
02) He appeared to the women returning from the grave (Matthew 28:5-10)
03) Then He appeared to Peter (Luke 24:34)
04) Then to the disciples on their way to Emmaus (Luke 24:P13-31)
05) To the apostles when Thomas was not present (John 20:24-29)
06) Again to the apostles, with Thomas present (John 20:24-29)
07) To the seven by the Sea of Tiberias (John 21:1-23)
08) To over 500 brethren (1 Corinthians 15:6)
09) He was seen of James (1 Corinthians 15:7)
10) He was seen again by the eleven apostles (Matthew 28:16-20 and Acts 1:3-12)
11) He was seen of Stephen, the first martyr (Acts 7:55j)
12) He was seen of Paul on his way to Damascus (Acts 9:3-6 and 1 Corinthians15:8)

Many of these eye witnesses died martyrs' deaths because they preached the resurrection of Jesus Christ. They were glad to die for a living Christ. They had the "convincing proofs."

When Jesus was arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane, all of His disciples "left Him and fled." (Matthew 26:56)  From this time until after His resurrection, the disciples lived in fear. They did not believe that He would rise from the dead. (John 20:9)  Had Jesus not come from the dead, the cross would have been the end of Christianity. After the death of Jesus, we see His disciples dejected, discouraged, and defeated. The death of Jesus meant but one thing to them: the end. How do we account for the great change that came into their lives three days and three nights later? The only logical explanation is that they had the "convincing proofs."  He had risen from the dead, and was alive forevermore. They saw Him, talked with Him, touched Him, and ate with Him.

Now look at some "convincing proofs" according to circumstantial evidence.
