Tolle Lege

Augustine (354-430 AD) was problem child with ungovernable temper; lied and stole often. He was thrown out of house. His mother, Monica continuously prayed for him. God answered her prayer.
Many years later, Augustine became full of grief and worried of his life. One day, as he could no longer bear the trouble in his heart, he wept bitterly. Then, he heard a voice from an unknown child said, “Tolle, lege” (“Take up and read”).
There, on the table, was Epistle of Paul. He opened the book and read: “Let us live honorably, as in the day, not in reveling and drunkenness, not in debauchery and licentiousness, not in quarreling and jealousy. Instead, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires” ( Romans 13:13-14).
The Bible verse turned him away from his old nature to God. He became the great follower of Jesus Christ and Saint of great fame – Saint Augustine.
Let us pray for our love ones, for other believers and non-believers, too that God may open their heart and turn them to Jesus Christ.
Today, the same voice of the Holy Spirit is saying to you “Tolle, lege”.
Therefore, open and read your Bible daily and always pray that God may help you understand His Holy words and make you His worthy child.

May God bless you.
