When we
repent, ask forgiveness of our sin and invite Jesus Christ to be our personal Lord
and Saviour, God forgive us and accept us as His Children (John 1:12). Then,
God give us the Holy Spirit to live a godly life. The Holy Spirit, living in
us, gradually change us to be like Christ by helping us grow in faith.
But, you
may ask me how can we know we are saved or the Holy Spirit is living in us or
how can we understand Jesus Christ become our Lord and Saviour. Here it is :
1.“We
know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands” (1 John 2:3).
And if we
know that we have come to know him,
2. “We
know that we have passed from death to life” (1 John 3:14).
And if we
know that we have passed from death to life,
3. “We
know that we live in him and he in us, because he has given us of his
Spirit” (1 John 4:13).
And if we
know that we live in him and he in us, because he has given us of his
Spirit.
4. “We
know and rely on the love God has for us” (1 John 4:16).
And if we
know and rely on the love God has for us,
5.“We
know that everyone born of God does not continue to sin; the one who was
born of God , [Jesus] keeps him safe, and the evil one cannot harm him. We
know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the
control of the evil one. We know also that the Son of God has come
and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are
in him who is true—even in his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the true God and
eternal life” (1 John 5:18-20).
Then, we
can fully understand and have full faith and rely on God’s word and can praise
Him :
“Though the mountains be shaken
and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor
my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you… All
your sons will be taught by the Lord, and great will be your children’s peace…
No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue
that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is
their vindication from me,” declares the Lord. (Isaiah 54:10-17).
Praise the Lord. Let us study His
words in the Bible daily to grow in faith and tell others the ‘Love of god’ and
always pray.
God bless you abundantly.
