“Christ
loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God”
(Ephesians 5:2).
God’s law says “
There is no-one righteous, not even one” (Romans 310).
“For all have sinned
and fall short of the glory of God”(Romans 3:23)
“For the wages of sin
is death”(Romans 6:23a)
But God is Love (1
John 1:8) too. That He loves us and does not wants us to die for ever in sin.
Therefore, He made a plan to save us, The Bible says, “For God so loved the
world ( i.e. people of the world) that He gave His one and only Son ( i.e.
Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal
life.” (John 3:16)
Jesus
Loves You and me so much that He accepted the plan of His Father, the only true
God. Jesus came and Died for us. The Apostle Paul was like us. He was a sinner.
He tortured the followers of Jesus Christ.
One day, while Saul (Paul)
went to Damascus to arrest the Christians, Jesus Christ appeared to Him. (Acts
9) Since then, Jesus changed him to be His Apostle and changed his name from
Saul to Paul. That was the turning point for Paul. He became the great
messenger of Jesus Christ.
Christ forgave the sin of
Saul and appointed him to be His Apostle by giving a new name ‘Paul’. Paul knew
deeply the love of God and Christ. He said, “Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a
fragrant offering and sacrifice to God” (Ephesians 5:2).
Jesus Christ, speaks through
Paul and tells us that God forgive sinners if they believe in Jesus Christ.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the
glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that
came by Christ Jesus.” (Romans 3:23-24)
He stressed that “For the
wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our
Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
