God is with us—for our good and His glory

Scripture: “The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered...When his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did, Joseph found favor in his eyes…” Genesis 39:2-4
If your life includes some trouble and suffering, you are not alone. Think of Joseph’s story. (Genesis 37, 39-50) He was the favorite of his father's twelve sons. He became second-in-command to the Pharaoh of Egypt. He even saved the ancient world from famine. Surely this was a man in God's favor!
Did you notice what was left out of that story? Stay in only certain parts of Joseph's story and it is easy to see his favor with God. But who could forget his brothers’ betrayal? How he was sold into slavery. How his purity was tested in his master's house? How he was thrown into prison for something he did not do. There's no denying it. Joseph suffered. And his great suffering was a key part of God's plan.
Notice that:
God's plan was bigger than Joseph. How could he have predicted the way God saved Egypt and Israel?
Joseph's suffering was not the end of the story. Thirteen years of hardship is terrible. But Joseph himself said he forgot all about the trouble (Gen. 41:51) during the next 80 great years.
Joseph’s hard experiences brought him great peace and insight about God's nature. (Gen. 45:7-8, Gen. 50:20)
Readers of his story are reminded, "the Lord was with him." (Genesis 39:3, 23)
When I am going through hardship, I can’t read my own story and see the note, "the Lord was with him." In fact, it often feels like he is not. Was it different for Joseph? Did he feel out of God's favor when his brothers sold him into slavery? When he went to prison for something he didn't do? Whether or not he felt that way, he came to understand that his trouble did not reflect God’s displeasure with him. He said it himself - what others intended for his harm, God intended for good, to accomplish the saving of many lives. (Gen. 50:20) And not only saving those ancient lives.
His story reminds us that hard times don’t necessarily mean God is displeased with us. He has bigger plans for us to embrace! He’s still writing the story. Some comfort can only come through hardship - and for the sake of the larger story, we have to go through it and pass it on. Remember Joseph. And just think how much poorer we would be if we only knew the easy, comfortable parts of his story!
Do hard times mean God does not favor you? Talk with a caring Christian about it.

RECEIVE THE FORGIVENESS OF GOD

Christianity is a relationship with Christ—based on faith alone! Your faith is to be based on the facts in the Bible…not feelings! (See 2 Timothy 3:16.) Faith in Christ may result in feelings…and often does. But, emotions are changeable, and you can’t depend upon them. You can only depend on what God says in his Word!

The most important decision you will ever make in life is to receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord. Coming to Jesus is not about “giving up” anything in your life. Rather, it is about accepting God’s forgiveness by faith.

In order to receive God’s forgiveness for your sins, you must personally invite Jesus Christ into your life (John 1:12). God knows your thoughts and motives. He desires you to come to Him in faith and humbleness, thanking Him for his death for you on the cross. You receive Jesus Christ into your life by personally asking Him to come into your life and forgive your sins.

TO LIVE A CHRISTIAN LIFE WE MUST JOIN THE CHURCH SERVICE:

No Christian can grow in faith without fellowship with other believers. The Bible also  tells us to live and worship the Lord together.
“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” -Hebrews 10:25
Therefore, go and attend the Church service regularly. Never miss Sunday School and worship services at least on Sunday so that we may grow together in Christ Jesus.

THE FORGIVENESS OF GOD IS FOR ALL WHO RECEIVED JESUS

“If we confess our sins, (God) is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9 )
When we received Jesus for our Lord and Saviour, all of our sins including past, present and future are forgiven by God.  Do not think that only those sins you confessed will be forgiven and try to confess every sins you committed. Neither assumes that though all of our sins in the past are forgiven, but not those in the future. Nor consider that we will become perfect and unable to ever sin again in future.
All believers, all the saints in the past and present, too face temptation and problem with sin. A problem face by every Christians is Sin. However, the Holy Spirit is God’s Solution to help Christians overcome sin in their lives!
Let’s always pray and study the words of God in the Bible. Pray that the Holy Spirit fill us and help us overcome sins.

JESUS CHRIST IS THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE

Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of the building which is His church.
“built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,” (Ephesians 2:20)
He cements together Jew and Gentile, male and female—all saints from all ages and places into one structure built on faith in Him which is shared by all.
The ‘Church’ means ‘saved people through Jesus Christ” (Romans 16:5)
‘Believers’ are compare to a building as the Holy Spirit lives in ‘true believers’. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as ‘Lord and Saviour’, the Holy Spirit lives in you and you are like a building for the Holy Spirit.
When the Holy Spirit lives in you, all your old nature will be cleaned and you will have a new nature, which is ‘good’, loving, caring, fruitful, hopeful, happy, lively, and all good characters. No power of sin can overcome the power of God.
Without a ‘cornerstone’ a good building can not be constructed. Without Jesus Christ, you can not be a dwelling place for the Holy Spirit.
Hope you are included in the Church and Jesus Christ is ‘the cornerstone’ in you. For this, study the Bible daily and pray all the time in Jesus name.

LIVE A GOOD LIFE WORTHY TO BE CALLED THE CHILD OF GOD

We are not saved because we are good person and do good things. We are born and brought up and are sinners. But “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.” ( John 3:16, 17).
Jesus died and saved all who believed in Him  from their sin and its consequences, which is eternal life in hell.  Apostle Paul says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast.” -Ephesians 2:8-9
Hope you believe and have already received Jesus Christ for your lord and savour. If so, thank God everyday and help others to receive Jesus Christ.
Always pray and study the Bible daily to grow in faith and live a a good life worthy to be called God’s child.

What is the Bible?

The word ‘Bible’ comes from the greek word ‘biblos’ which is translated as ‘book’ (Luke 4:17). In the New Testament, biblos refers to the Old Testament Scriptures. But the word Bible refers to the entire Old and New Testament Scripture. Observe how Scripture is described in the verses below.

“The law of the LORD is perfect,restoring the soul;
The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.”
“The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.” (Psalm 19:7&8)
“And the words of the LORD are flawless, like silver refined in a furnace of clay, purified seven times.” (Psalm 12:6)
“And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” (Ephesians 6:17)

NB: Notice that each description of Scripture ends with the phrase ‘of the LORD’ or ‘of God’. The testimony of Scripture is that the
Bible comes from God.

FAITH IS THE KEY TO GOD IN HEAVEN

Faith is trusting God when there is no one else to trust.
Faith is relying upon God in the midst of trouble.
Faith is having confidence in God’s promises.
Faith sees the invisible and believes the impossible.
Faith is a conviction that no matter what the circumstances look like, God will fulfill His word.
Faith is knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt that God will take care of you.
Faith is believing in God more than you believe in your problems.
“Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1 - KJV).
Pray God the Father to help you through the Holy Spirit to have a living faith in Him in Jesus name. Read the Bible daily and prayer continually.

NICODEMUS CAME IN DARK TO JESUS AND RECEIVED LIGHT

Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.”
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.[a]” (John 3:1-3)
Nicodemus came from night (darkness) and met Jesus at night (as unbeliever) and returned home the morning ( having new life, becoming new believer).
All who come to Jesus Christ received the blessings of God physically as well as spiritually.
Come to Jesus in your sinful condition, He will give you New life.

SIN AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT

Here is Jesus speaking to the crowds: "Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven." (Matthew 12:31)

"This is a solemn study, because the Holy Spirit is God and can be sinned against by both the believer and the unbeliever May He help you search your heart as you consider:

1) The sin of blaspheming the Holy Spirit is committed by unbelievers. It is often called the unpardonable sin. It has no forgiveness. It was committed by the enemies of Jesus when they accused Him of casting out demons by the power of Satan. (Matthew 12:24) when Jesus claimed to cast them out by the Spirit of God. (Matthew 12:28)

How to Receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit

Acts 2:32–42,
“This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses. Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this which you see and hear. For David did not ascend into the heavens; but he himself says, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, till I make thy enemies a stool for thy feet.’ Let all the house of Israel therefore know assuredly that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”
Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brethren, what shall we do?” And Peter said to them, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children and to all that are far off, every one whom the Lord our God calls to him.” And he testified with many other words and exhorted them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls. And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.

Believer is a New Creation in Christ

God created the whole universe from nothing (ex nihilo). He created man and  breathed life in us (Genesis 2:7).  He is the source (provider) of life. Life without the Him, source of life is ‘death’ (spiritually).  According to Apostle Paul, all believers have died with Christ and no longer live for themselves. The life we lives are no longer worldly, but spiritual life. Our old sin nature has died on the cross with Christ, buried with Him, and raised us up spiritually with Christ to “walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4). This new life is referred by Paul as the “New Creation.”
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

This ‘New Life’ is not the own creation by believer but is the creation of God, the Creator. The believer become ‘New Creation’ by the grace of God, through faith.  Because, ‘ Salvation’ is not by work but through faith in Christ. This ‘New birth’ is brought by the will of God (John 1:13).
The old nature of believers has died with Jesus on the cross and was buried with Him in the grave.  The “old nature” of non-believers are pride, love of worldly pleasure, reliance on works, bad habits and passions, supreme love of self and with it self-righteousness, self-promotion, and self-justification. All such old nature are replaced by a new nature, Christ-like nature when one received ‘New Life in Christ’; “new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness” (Ephesians 4:24).

Do all roads lead to God?

Yes, all roads  lead to God, when we die, to stand before Him to be judged for what we have done while alive. For the majority of people, hell will be the final destination. But God in His mercy has provided all of us the only means for salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ. “salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”(Acts 4:12).  Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Therefore, call Jesus and accept Him as Lord and Saviour to be saved, now.

Jesus Christ is God

God-Man

"Christianity differs from all religions, because it is more than a religion - it is the life of the Son of God made living in man. Christ is Christianity, and Christianity is Christ. He is he supreme subject of each book of the New Testament, and fulfills all the promises of God in the Old Testament, from His incarnation to His Second Coming as "Lord of lords and King of kings" (Revelation 17:14). He is the God-man Christ Jesus in glory, exalted above all creatures. Jesus said, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth" (Matthew 28:18).

During His earthly ministry, He claimed to be God incarnate (in human flesh). He is all that He claimed to be, or He is less than the least (Revelations 1:8).  Before His claim can be denied, there are some things that must be accounted for:

            His virgin birth;
            His holy, sinless life;
            His many miracles;
His vicarious death and His bodily resurrection.

How to Spend the Day with God

- By - Richard Baxter
A holy life is inclined to be made easier when we know the usual sequence and method of our duties - with everything falling into its proper place. Therefore, I shall give some brief directions for spending the day in a holy manner.
Sleep
Measure the time of your sleep appropriately so that you do not waste your precious morning hours sluggishly in your bed. Let the time of your sleep be matched to your health and labour, and not to slothful pleasure.
First Thoughts
Let God have your first awaking thoughts; lift up your hearts to Him reverently and thankfully for the rest enjoyed the night before and cast yourself upon Him for the day which follows.
Familiarise yourself so consistently to this that your conscience may check you when common thoughts shall first intrude. Think of the mercy of a night's rest and of how many that have spent that night in Hell; how many in prison; how many in cold, hard lodgings; how many suffering from agonising pains and sickness, weary of their beds and of their lives.
Think of how many souls were that night called from their bodies terrifyingly to appear before God and think how quickly days and nights are rolling on! How speedily your last night and day will come! Observe that which is lacking in the preparedness of your soul for such a time and seek it without delay.

WINNING OTHERS WITHOUT A WORD

Sharing God’s love through actions and behavior.
Scripture:  Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
Do you have the chance to talk about your faith? But what if they won’t listen? What if you can get in trouble starting conversations about Jesus?
In His love, God instructed us on how to be His Message, before even using words: “live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God” (1 Peter 2:12). How can this look in your life?

CHRISTIANS ARE CHOSEN TO BE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

Jesus said to His followers,
“ ‘You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden. No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)
The moment you received Jesus Christ for your Lord and Saviour, become Christian. Then, you become the follower of Jesus Christ. You become the light of the world.

BELIEVERS HAVE GOD AND HIS NATURE

When one believe God, the creator of the universe and received Jesus Christ for Lord and Saviour, God give the Holy Spirit to the believer. When the Holy Spirit indwell, the believer start living a new life, having the nature of God. Other people can also notice the nature of God in the believer.
 God and His Nature :
"The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love."  (1 John 4:8)
"There are four definitions of God in the Bible. Since God cannot be defined, they are incomplete. However, they do throw light upon the nature of God. They are:
 01) "God is love"  (1 John 4:8). This is the nature of God in His divine compassion.
 02) "God is light"  (1 John 1:5). This is the nature of God in His divine character; in Him there is no darkness.
 03) "God is a consuming fire" (Hebrews 12:29). This is the nature of God in His divine holiness.
 04) "God is spirit" (John 4:24). This is the nature of God in His divine essence.
The attributes of God reveal His nature. Do not think of His attributes as abstract, but as vital mediums through which His holy nature is unveiled - attributes ascribed to Him, such as:

WE NEED THE HOLY SPIRIT ALWAYS

The Bible says,  “The LORD is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in TRUTH. He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cry and saves them.” -Psalm 145:18-19.
Jesus says “I am the Truth”. To get the response of our prayer, we have to pray in Truth(Jesus), in His name.  We must first receive Him ( Jesus) for Saviour and Lord of our life. We must obey Him. We must  follow His teaching and become His faithful follower. If so, He will give us  ‘Spiritual filled life’. Then, God will surely respond our prayer.
But we are human being. We are weak. We have no capacity to obey God. Jesus knows this very well. As such, he promised to give the Hoy Spirit to believers. Our duty is to believe Him and ask forgiveness of our sin. We have to tellHim in prayer if we accepted Him as Lord and Saviour,  surrender ourselves to Him, ask Him to rule over and control our life.

GOD AND HIS GRACE

"For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;" (Ephesians 2:8)
"Grace is the love and mercy of God in action. Mercy is negative, and love is positive; both together mean grace. To show mercy in love is grace. God showed mercy in love when He sent His Son to bear our sins in His own body on the cross. (John 3:16)
 01) The grace of God saves forever (Romans 8:38, 39).
02) The grace of God is unconditional; that is, we are not saved on the condition that we "hold out unto the end" or that we "fail not" or that we "do our best." We are saved by the grace of God, apart from works.
03) The grace of God is sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9).
04) The grace of God makes no discrimination (Revelation 22:17).
05) The grace of God justifies (Romans 3:23, 24).
06) The grace of God makes every believer an heir (Titus 3:7).
07) The grace of God teaches the believer how to live (Titus 2:11, 12).
The grace of God is nothing less than the unlimited love of God expressed in the gift of His Son, our Savior. It is the undeserved love of God toward sinners."
When any person believed in Jesus that He died for your sin and acknowledge Him for the Lord of His life, God in His grace accepted Him to be His child and bless this believer with eternal life. The assured ‘eternal life’ God give believer is manifested in the life of the believer that this believer have new life with good nature. God also give the Holy Spirit to believer to guide and help the believer a fruitful and peaceful life.

BELIEVERS WILL FULLY UNDERSTAND GOD ONEDAY

God reveal Himself to us in two ways. One is called ‘General Revelation ’in nature’. God reveal His wonderful works, His mighty power and glory in nature for us to understand Him in some way.
The second is called ‘Special Revelation’ . God reveal His person, work, plan and will clearly in the Bible to make us understand Him and relate to us closely.
Even then, man can not fully understand God. Because, for human being, God is “transcendent” . This means, God is above and beyond human understanding. As such, it is impossible for us to understand Him and His ways, thoughts and mind.
Therefore, even the God’s beloved Apostle Paul says in the Bible, “Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways! For who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to give him advice? And who has given him so much that he needs to pay it back? For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen.” (Romans 11:33-36)

HAVE FAITH LIKE MARY AND MARTHA

Mary and Martha believed “Where there is Jesus, there is no dead! Because, Jesus is ‘the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.” The two also confessed their faith. Therefore, the Lord blessed them beyond their believe by ‘raising their dead brother Lazarus from the dead.”
Lazarus was sick. His two sister Mary and her sister Martha sent word to Jesus. On his arrival, Jesus found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days. When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet him,
“Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.”

FIX YOUR EYES ON JESUS

When I say “Jesus give me faith” some wonder what I mean.  I believe in God and Jesus since my childhood. But I failed to rely on Him in many situations. Only after I committed my life to Jesus, my faith started growing since that day when Jesus give me ‘faith’, how to believe in and rely on Him. This ‘faith’ is His special gift to rely on Him. And this ‘faith’ (believe in Him) is still growing as He lives in me and is leading my life. The Bible says,
“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:2).
Jesus is the “‘perfecter’ of our faith”.
I earnestly hope He will ‘perfect’ my little faith as he is helping my faith growing.
May Jesus also give you ‘faith’ so that you may rely on Him.
For you and me, let us fix our eyes on Jesus, our Lord and saviour.

HAVE PEACE OF GOD IN JESUS

To have peace and security in life physically and spiritually,
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways
acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”( Proverbs 3:5-6)
God bless you.

To those who love God and have faith in Him, the Lord say with promise,
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help
you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”( Isaiah 41:10)
May God be with you always.

JESUS CARE HIS FOLLOWERS
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your
hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.( John 14:27)

Jesus Can Heal You

When they came to the crowd, a man approached Jesus and knelt before him.  “Lord, have mercy on my son,” he said. “He has seizures and is suffering greatly. He often falls into the fire or into the water. I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him.”
“You unbelieving and perverse generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me.” Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed at that moment.
Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”
He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” .( Matthew 17:14-21)

Praise the Lord.
All of us had been like this boy, ‘sin possessed persons’.  Sin is so powerful that it attacks our body, mind and soul. It destroy our character, habit, and every way of living. Before Jesus Christ saved us, we had been under the powerful influence of deadly bad habit of ‘displeasing God’ in every way. We did not even know that we were under the control of sin (Satan). We could not obey the words of God, as ‘sin’ in us over powered and control us. We knew good works to be done but could not. We wanted to earn good name by doing good and great works for our family and people. But sin in us had disturbed us. We could not even worship God in His own way due to the influence of sin.

We wanted to earn good name by doing good and great works for our family and people. But sin in us had disturbed us. We could not even worship God in His own way due to the influence of sin.

HELP OTHERS TO RELATE WITH GOD

Help Lord Jesus wants all His followers to help others relate with God by receiving the Gospel. You can say, “God want you too to say ‘Lord, I am here, send me’. But not all of us can go to the field. In that case you can sponsor, you can pay, you can sponsor those who go for the work. You can, at least contribute few sum for the work of the Lord.”

There are many Jesus among the Christian. Though the real Jesus is the ‘Jesus of Nazareth, many Christian create their own respective Jesus. Such self-created Jesus, he said, never command you to love, help and serve others and never send you to preach Gospel among the people. That Jesus will make you self-cantered, selfish, jealous, materialist and ungodly. The result is doom for you too.
 What Jesus you are following?

Do you want to live a life that is pleasing to God?

You can! Though the power of evil is very strong and you may personally feel very weak, the Bible teaches us that God will graciously give us everything we need to be able to live a life that pleases and honors Him (2 Peter 1:3-4).

This does not mean, of course, that we will never sin or do anything wrong.  But it does mean that God will truly help us to live a life that honors Him, glorifies him, and pleases Him--if we genuinely and sincerely desire to live such a life and prayerfully seek to walk with Him every moment of every day.
