Jesus is The Fulfillment of the Scriptures

a) In Luke 4:14-22, When Jesus was given the Scripture, He read a Messianic prophecy from Isaiah 6:1-3 :  "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord." (Luke 4:18-19 )

And he closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant, and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him. And he began to say to them, "Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing." (Luke 4:20-21 )

b) Jesus is the Messiah : When He says "today this scripture has been fulfilled" in Luke 4:21, He is saying ‘I am the Messiah that Isaiah prophesied about’.

c) Jesus is ‘Not another prophet, but fulfillment of all prophesies’, as He says “"The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe in the gospel."  (Mk. 1:15).

d) Jesus is the ‘Son of Man’ which the Daniel saw in his vision in Daniel 7:13 ff. Mathew 24:30; 26:64.

e) Jesus is the ‘Suffering servant’ who suffer and die to save His people, which we find in Isaiah 53:3 ff. Luke 18:31-33; Mark 10:33, 34.

f) Jesus is the Messiah what the prophets wanted to see but could not. He says, ‘Blessed are your eyes……..many prophets wanted to see what you see and hear what you hear’( Mathew 13:16-17).

g) Jesus is equal Yahweh : ‘Truly before Abraham was born, I am”( John 8:56-58 )
