As a love wants to talk with his/her beloved in solitude, a person deeply in love with Jesus also wants to talk in prayer in solitude so that he may pray without any disturbances.
Setting aside special time and place to study the Bible and pray in solitude with deep meditation regularly
lead to a growing relationship with Christ and receiving spiritual gift.
Even, Jesus was doing the same while walking on this earth more than two thousand years ago. Jesus was and is God. He is God the Son. Even then, He Jesus frequently sought solitude to talk with Heavenly Father in prayer. Read :
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus
got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
Simon and his companions went to look for him,
and when they found him, they exclaimed: “Everyone is
looking for you!”
Jesus replied, “Let us go somewhere else—to the nearby
villages—so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.”
So he travelled
throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons. (Mark
1: 35-39)
Prayer during the
daytime was nearly impossible since the crowds continually pressed on Him, so
He skipped on some sleep to be able to talk with His Father that He missed so
much.
Jesus made spending time with His Father a priority. After
finally finding Him that morning, the disciples reported that everybody in the
town where He had been was seeking Him. Nevertheless, since He wanted to be
able to get the message to as many people as possible, He insisted on moving on
to other towns. Jesus wanted everyone to hear his message.
We all are duty bound. We have to do lots of work in this competitive world so and it is
blessing to do our own duty honestly. We can also always pray while doing our
duty – walking and working.
Therefore, as lover of Jesus, let us regularly take special
time and place to talk with God in prayer in and study the Bible with meditation
each and everyday.
