Jesus lived
a sinless life on earth. During His life He said, "I am the resurrection
and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and
whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?" (John
11:25-26) He raised Lazarus from the dead.
He also
said He gives His life for all. He bore the sin of the people of the world and
died on the Cross on our behalf. He was buried on the grave and had risen from
the grave. The Bible records thus :
“ Now
after the sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene
and the other Mary went to see the sepulchre. And behold, there was a great
earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled
back the stone, and sat upon it. His appearance was like lightning, and his
raiment white as snow.
And for
fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. But the angel said to
the women, "Do not be afraid; for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.
He is not here; for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.
Then go
quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he
is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. Lo, I have told
you." they departed quickly from
the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
And
behold, Jesus met them and said, "Hail!" And they came up and took
hold of his feet and
worshiped
him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid; go and tell my brethren
to go to Galilee, and there they will see me." ……………………
…………………..Now
the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed
them. And when they saw him they worshiped him; but some doubted. And Jesus
came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been
given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to
observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the
close of the age." (Matthew 28:1-20)
Jesus is
the only risen Lord and King. His Kingdom is not earthly Kingdom. Earthly
kingdom, even the Roman empire would not be a ‘dot of I in English Alphabet’
compare to the Kingdom of God where Jesus Christ is King. He reign on earth and
in heaven, He will judge all.
When many
followers were tortured by Roman government and many believers died and many backslides,
Jesus appeared to His disciple John. He said to John “ I am the living one; I
died, and behold I am alive for evermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.”
(Revelation 1:18)
Jesus is
the Son of God. He is from the beginning and lives for ever. His lives on earth
was a short period. He came as man to save man from sin and eternal death. He
came, died and was risen that all who believe in Him and received Him as Lord
and Saviour may have ‘life eternal’.
Hope you
have already received Him. If not yet, call Him in prayer and receive Him for
your Lord and Saviour. Then you will be able to join Job say :
“For I
know that my Redeemer lives, and at last he will stand upon the earth; and
after my skin has been thus destroyed, then from my flesh I shall see God, whom
I shall see on my side, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. My heart
faints within me!” (Job 19: 25-27)
When you turn
from your sinful life and turn to God with a genuine repentance; confess your sin and invite Jesus Christ for
Saviour and Lord of your life. When you sincerely ask the forgiveness of your
sin, surrender the control of your life and ask Him to direct your life, Jesus Christ
will save you from all the power of sin. He will give you a new, peaceful and
joyous life. You will start living a fresh and good life under the guidance of
the Holy Spirit.
Then,
study the Bible daily and always pray. Always
remember what the Apostle Paul says :
Do you
not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized
into his death?
We were
buried therefore with him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised
from the dead
by the
glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been
united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a
resurrection like his.
We know
that our old self was crucified with him so that the sinful body might be
destroyed, and we might no longer be enslaved to sin. For he who has died is
freed from sin. But if we have died with
Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him.
For we
know that Christ being raised from the dead will never die again; death no
longer has dominion over him. The death he died he died to sin, once for all,
but the life he lives he lives to God.
So you
also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. Let
not sin therefore reign in your mortal bodies, to make you obey their passions.
Do not
yield your members to sin as instruments of wickedness, but yield yourselves to
God as men
who have
been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments of
righteousness.
For sin
will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
What
then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!
Do you
not know that if you yield yourselves to any one as obedient slaves, you are
slaves of the one
whom you
obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to
righteousness?
But
thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient
from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, and,
having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness. “ (Rom 6:3-18)
This Risen King will come back to receive believers and judge and
punish those who do not believe in Him. He says,
"Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense, to repay every
one for what he has done.
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning
and the end." (Revelation 22:11-13)
Therefore,
receive Him now, before it is too late.
May the
risen Lord, Jesus Christ give you ‘Victory over the power of all evil and all sin’.
May He give you all the blessings of God as you received Him.
God bless
you.
