Salvation, as understood in the Old Testament, is only
through Yahweh. Other religions do not save. The gods are powerless. In the Old
Testament terms, the question whether there is salvation in other religion is,
according to Goldingway and Wright, a non-question: “There is salvation in no
religion because religions don’t save”. Israel was saved by Yahweh, not by
religion. Religions may offer many good starting points, but they are not
adequate as finishing points. “There is no salvation in them, not because they
are somehow inferior as religions to the religion of Christianity, but because
they are not witnesses to the deeds of the God who saves”. Insights alone are
not enough. “We need redemption, not merely revelation”. { Stated by Roger E.
Hedlund in ‘The Biblical approach to Other Religion’.}
None can receive Salvation by being religious or following
religious rules and norms. Salvation is only from Yahweh, the only true God. The
Prophet Mica, in the Old Testament Bible clearly stated this :
"With what shall I come before the LORD,
and bow myself before God on high?
Shall I come before him with burnt
offerings,
with calves a year old?
Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of
rams,
with ten thousands of rivers of oil?
Shall I give my firstborn for my
transgression,
the fruit of my body for the sin of my
soul?"
He has told you, O mortal, what is good;
and what does the LORD require of you
but to do justice, and to love
kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:6-8)
In Gospel John, Jesus said that He and the Father
(God/Yahweh) is One. Jesus claims “I am”
(Yahweh). He also said “all power in
heaven and earth has been given to Him (Matthew 28.18). The Apostles and other
Church Fathers have preached that “Salvation is only through Jesus Christ.
Therefore, one must turn away from sin and turn to God
and receive Jesus Christ for personal Lord and Saviour.
Hope you have already received Jesus Christ. Then, help
others to receive Jesus Christ.
God Bless you.
